Wings the novel into the movie?

I would really like to audition for the part of laurel in the movie wings. (a novel by aprilynne pike) I have read the book and loved it. I also fit the part well on how Laurel looks. But Miley cyrus is already probably going to get the role. I have experiance but not that much. Could I actually get the part or is it already destined to be Miley's?
