Yes white rice can curve as with any rice. It's all in the technique of how they cook it. Depending on how much water you put into the rice and how long you cook it the rice will break out from the grain. I prefer it when it curves cause it gives it this pop when I chew it. There's a place in Chapel Hill, NC called Top of the Hill that cooks their rice like that for one of their dish.
