At what point is someone becoming an addict to over the counter meds?
My husband has never been into drugs. He crashed last summer, thinking he was dying of a brain tumour as he had severe headaches. He started taking tylenols/PM tylenols/Sinus stuff. He was all checked out and given clear bill of health. He started having panic attacks and anxiety and was put on Effexor. He is continuing to take Tylenols, Advils, Sinus pills, etc. He is taking them daily. This is not normal to me. What do I do? Will this cause him harm? Will this escalate? He is still a functioning adult in a good job, despite being a little out of it...very forgetful, lots of TV time in his man cave. Any insight? What is wifey to do??? Not worry about it. Hide the meds??? I am from the school of you don't take anything unless you are sick, like a few times a year. His family have always been big on taking this and that for every little thing. I understand the Effexor if it helps the anxiety, but whats up with all the Tylenol. This seems odd to me and pointless. Now that I've brought it up, he sneaks it.
