Will my gecko get better?

I consulted an online expert and was told that in order to help with the possible eye infection to drop sterile, unmedicated saline solution into his eye. Also I bought some calcium powder because I had no idea that leopard geckos needed it. So I dropped a couple drops in, put a bowl of powder in his cage and turned off the fluorescent light and just left the heat lamp on, hoping that would coax him out of his house. Will he get better? He can't die because he's the only pet I have left and I would feel extremely guilty that I couldn't provide the proper care for him if he did die.
