A soln contains CaCO3 & HCl.To calcult HCl cntent it is titrated w Na2CO3.Can't we use NaOH instead of Na2CO3?

There can be a reaction between NaOH and CaCO3 to form Na2CO3 and Ca(OH)2. Think of the carbonates as an acid-base progression from H2CO3 to bicarbonate to carbonate to OH-. In each case, the compound to the left is an acid and the compound to the right is a conjugate base.
